European Conference on Plastics
On 8 and 9 December 2016, 300 participants met up to contribute to the development of European policy in the area of plastic. The highly interactive and multifaceted programme featured interesting speakers such as State Secretary for Infrastructure and the Environment Sharon Dijksma, and stakeholders from the entire value chain, all coming together to exchange knowledge and initiate co-creations. The goal: a future with less plastic waste, more focus on new techniques for using and recycling plastic, and improved design to use less plastic in products.
Pieter Schure, PINO (organiser of the conference): "The RDM Onderzeebootloods, with its rough, authentic character is a backdrop that underscores the approach taken during this conference: 'Get down to work’. Instead of leaning back and listening to some nice presentations, get to work with the target group to come up with feasible solutions to a variety of challenges. The responses of guests arriving at the venue immediately confirmed that this location was going to contribute to the conference’s output!”
